Comedy In Knight Rider

Post by Sith » Wed Jun 09, 2004 12:49 pm

I often found several scenes amusing, especially KITT's wisecracks.

So do you have any favourite scenes? Any favourite one liners?

Michael: KITT, they're still shooting at us!

KITT: Yes, thank you Michael, but I noticed that myself.

The most redundant statement ever

Michael: "You know, you're about as much fun as a divorce ... which is not a bad idea."

KITT: "I want custody of me."

This was on just a few days ago:

Michael: "Devon, somebody tried to kill me last night."
Devon: "I have an alibi."

MICHAEL-wo what the h.ll was that?
K.I.T.T-i AM APART OF KNIGHT INDUSTRIES 2000'S MICRO PROCCOR.
Michael-I want to know who you are and how your listening in?
K.I.T.T-There's no need to raise your voice(I BELIEVE THAT'S WHAT HE SAYS)I am scanning your Vitall signs.

From KNIGHT OF THE PHOENIX EPSIODE.

Sorry that was long but it's my favorite. 8)

I personally like this one.

Kitt: Michaels not crazy, in the clinical sense at least.

I think one of my favorites was when they first encountered the Juggernaut:

Michael: "What was that??"
KITT: "It appears to be a large armored vehicle."

Wow ya don't say!

Try this:
Micheal - "What the hell was that?"
<Pulls over>
KITT - "Do you wish further information on Silicon Valley?"
Micheal - "Hell, no. I want to know who you are and how you're listening in."
KITT - "There's no reason for increased volume. I am scanning your interrogatives quite satisfactorily. I am the voice of Knight Industry 2000's microprocessor. K-I-T-T for easy reference. KITT if you prefer."
Micheal - "No, I don't 'prefer', and what's more, I don't intend to drive around in a car that talks back to me...so either Devon pulls your plug, or you get yourself another driver."

There's lots of eyebrow raising on Micheal's side in that scene! :-)

There's another gem at the end of the pilot missing from the 2-part format. After KITT starts to drive Michael away to the hospital, instead of cutting to the last scene in the airplane, we see him in the hospital being visited by Maggie. Afterwards, a tow truck is towing KITT to the airport, with Michael and Devon inside:

Devon: "Only you could have dented this car!"
Michael: "Hey...I'm sorry, nothing's perfect...When do I get it back?"
Devon: "Who said anything about getting it back??"
Michael: "Devon...my car, I have the registration."
Devon: "Don't remind me!"

Yeah, I didn't get that. What was supposed to have done the damage? Nothing KITT couldn't have handled surely!

This is one of the funniest scenes I ever saw in Knight Rider:

(2 cops sit in their car on side of road at night, one with a radar gun)
cop 1: Whoa, 80 miles an hour!
cop 2: Damn kids, they think they own this road.
cop 1: 150...190?...225??!! It's off the scale!
(both cops get out and stare down the road as KITT approaches rapidly)
cop 1: Maybe it ain't a car...
(KITT turbo boosts over the cops and their car and lands again promptly on the other side, tearing off down the road)
cop 2: What was that??
cop 1: ...Pontiac.

lmao, I thinks today's took the cake... for me, at least :P When Devon had gotten arrested and Bonnie told Michael and he said "For what? Assault with a deadly crumpet?" lol I had forgotten about that one, I laughed so loudly and suddenly my mom asked if I was okay lol... but I agree, there's a lot of funny dialogue in Knight Rider, so much I can't choose just one :)

KARR is great for comedy too come to think of it.

If you want Knight Rider comedy, try the "Compueters" thread above this one.

As for actual KR funnies, I loved it anytime KITT gave Micheal the silent treatment when KITT gets upset. LOL!

I liked it when Michael told Gaye Hollenbeck and friend Bonnie about what he'd put in the canister he'd replaced the real canister after Bonnie asked him what he'd filled it with and he said, "Oh, nothing special; i'm sure the Hammer of the Desert has camel pens full of it.", and he smiled soon afterwards.
This was after Michael let Carascas get away with the lookalike canister.
There were some more funny moments and the newly discovered one was, for me, was when KITT said, "I wouldn't touch that line with a 100-ft. driveshaft.", with Michael saying, "What's that supposed to mean?"
Also there was that one in which Michael said to Stark in an animal lab, "Yeah, well, they make rotten dancers."
That also made me laugh.....
Also a classic one: "Me, jealous? Of high powered broomsticks on wheels?"----KITT in the episode "Speed Demons"
I think "Knight Rider" was, and still is, the funniest action adventure series with a talking car, thanks to a lot of good, funny moments.

oh boy, there are so many good one liners from that show, but i have to say one of favorites is definitely the one from my siggy.

"Michael...where are your pants?"

this was said quite confusedly by K.I.T.T after michael was forced out of his cabin by a smoke bomb in A Plush Ride. i laughed so hard the first time i heard him say it that i missed the rest of of the dialog in the scene.
Flyer Guy: "You really a talking car?"
KITT: "No. I'm a tight end for the Chicago Bears!"

Michael: "Ohh what do we have here?"
K.I.T.T.: "It appears to be three females."
Michael: "I can see that."

Deadly Maneuvers
That's what I have for my signature. What about this one? I kept rewinding the scene on the DVD and laughing every time...

Michael: "I'm tellin' you this investigation is important. You have my word it will all work out."
Bonnie moves past Michael.
Michael: "Yeah. Where was I?"
Devon: " 'I'm tellin' you this investigation is important. You have my word it will all work out.' "
Michael: "Thanks, Devon. I knew you see things my way."
If you don't make a difference, you are not the Knight Rider.

A slight correction in the funny driveshaft moment on "Knight Rider":
KITT actually said, "I wouldn't touch that line with a 10-ft. driveshaft," as a way to keep an eye on Michael and his, ahem, social life, which KITT and Michael talked briefly about before Michael went back to being undercover.
It was still funny, though.....

Here's one:

____(From "A Nice, Indecent Little Town")_____

Michael: (...) Picture perfect. Can you give me a hard copy?
(printer buzzing)
Kitt: How's that for service?
Michael: Terrific. (...)
Wait a minute. Are you sure this is not couterfeit?
Kitt: I beg your pardon?
Michael: Just a joke, pal.

How about Michael trying to negotiate a trade of cars with Elmer in "Soul Survivor".

Michael: "It's not really a TV."
Elmer: "Looks like a little TV."
Michael: "Look at me. I am an honest man. Trade the convertible and sixty-eight dollars, give me your address and I'll send you a little TV just like that one, right to your very own home. What do you say???"
Elmer: "I thought you said it wasn't a little TV."

From "No Big Thing"

KITT- "Michael, step on the brake..... Put it in reverse.....Michael, Why reverse?
MIchael- "I want to see where he's going."

This part really got me puzzled.
