THE DASH! It seems too big to fit properly into the car, without encroaching into seat space. Did anyone modify their dashboard for their model? You have to cut or sand off approximately one millimeter of plastic from both parts of the dashboard. Sand them off slowly and try to graft/cement them to...

With reference to Section 5 - putting together the fanbelt/pulley assembly, it's clear that #43 goes at the rear of the pulleys. Do #39, #104 and #105 also go at the rear (meaning that only the fan itself is at the front)? Yes, you are correct. Only the fan is attached to the front of the fanbelt a...

Also the MPC kit is more accurate than the AMT/ERTL. There are a number of MPC KITTs on e-bay for under $7, by the way. Make sure you get the MPC kit with either the yellow Corvette promo sign or the Golden Opportunity kit logo. They are the ones with the correct fender vents, tail lights and inter...

I'm not to keen on are spray-painting, dechroming and reading books. You don't have to buy expensive air brush equipment. Spray cans are cheap and easy to use on large model parts such as car bodies. You can then brush paint small parts such as the engine and such. Take your time and plan ahead bef...

Re: Need help with AMT/Ertl's kits!
Hello RobWolf , welcome to the community! There are lots of model makers here (myself included) and you will surely enjoy your stay. There are no air vents behind the front wheels. I can faintly see an outline of where they should be, so I dunno if Ertl changed the molds after KR finished or somethi...

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I couldn't face trawling through 59 pages to find out. I just got the ERTL model and am having trouble with the grappling hook. If I pull it out it will spring back, but it moves very jerkily and sometimes gets stuck and won't go back at all. Also, I can'...

I now have the Ertl K.A.R.R. and have compared to the on-line photos of the Aoshima version. Besides the plate, tires and fog lights (Ertl has no dots in the middle), are there any other differences? The ERTL box art also differs from Aoshima's. ERTL's has a square hole at the front to test the sca...

KITT might not be able to safely absorb such an impact when landing after turbo-boosting at 300 mph or more. And neither could Michael, Passive Laser Restraint system or not. And KITT would require a rather long runway to land on. Possible on an airport runway or a desert, but on a crowded city? I d...

That's a nice Kenner you have there Josch. However it needs to be disassembled and cleaned inside and out. It will look a thousand times better after cleaning and waxing, trust me. Does the voice mechanism work? If it doesn't, perhaps you can disassemble the voice box and see what's wrong inside. Al...

Suction cup? My best guess is that the production crew forgot to remove some camera paraphernalia from the hood. Its how they get to mount the camera for the shots involving Michael behind the wheel while driving. Why they didn't bother to remove such a thing before shooting a faraway shot boggles t...

Hi steveo3002 , welcome to KRO! You've done a good modification job on your 1/18 KITT. And you've also done well on your 1/25 KITT model. I particularly like how you rounded off the model's PMD seats (as Turboman earlier mentioned) and sanded off the turn-signal blackouts to simulate a 4th season ca...

I always thought that maybe pontiac forced the close of the show due to them not wanting to supply the production/stuunt team with trans ams anymore, by 1986 the shape and design of the trans ams were changing. possible??? hmmmmmmm Actually, the overall shape and design of the 1982 Firebird remain ...
