I've also heard that car (automative) paint is just as good for painting car models as KITT with? Is this true? Because I could have saved a lot of money had I gone to a garage and got a half-used paint can. It is possible to use automotive paint but as HungarianKnight mentioned, some paints dissol...

It would be hard to make an accurate estimate if we don't know the actual condition of the item that is being appraised. Is it still new in the packaging or is it a used toy...a picture would surely help. You can try to look in ebay for the same item and see how much people are willing to spend on it.

Re: Model help: Airbrushing

I plan to start practising on some cardboard etc tomorrow Cardboard is not the same material that is used on plastic model kits. If you have another car kit that is not of importance to you, use the car's shell as a practice run. Or buy any cheap car kit in a hobby store and practice on that first,...

I was wondering if their even were any comercials to push that kr merchandise.Does anyone else have any other commercials like the voice car kitt from kenner? Here's a picture of David I found in ebay. Looks like he's holding a prototype version of the Kenner KITT and doll. The doll looks to be sma...

Yeah I also had to chop chunks out of the dash parts. Didn't do a particularly good job. But for now, this is a practise run and I'm learning as I go along. Hopefully, the next one will be brilliant! Nice model though. Paintwork looks a lot better than mine. Thanks! The first one I worked on didn't...

Re: THIS MIGHT BE LUCKIEST DAY IN MY LIFE!!!

if its economic then my father wont spent so much money on the fuel in estonia the gas is so expensive in summer and autumn Those replicas are definitely NOT gas misers. Meaning they will literally bleed your pockets because they pack a V8 engine. Not really for the money conscious in need of a dai...

Hi ryytel , thanks for your compliments. I used decals to make the dash which I acquired from Knight Modelman through email. I printed it out on paper using an inkjet printer, cut it out and pasted it on. Perhaps you already know this but I'll mention anyway for those who don't. I had to cut up and ...

Nice Model Dude!!!! Looks 100 times better than my model I put together. Mine is in pieces somewhere. You can always try to build another one TurbomanKnight (or repair your current one). I trashed my first KITT model but I vowed to make another attempt when I had the chance. Don't give up, wh...

Thanks for your compliments Dave Knight ! And you are correct, I painted the 2 tv screens, the steering wheel pod buttons, the steering wheel Knight emblem and the circular yellow/red displays beside the voice box (I used Tamiya enamel paint and a fine Tamiya paintbrush). The rest I used some home-m...

I started to build my 1/25 scale MPC KITT late last year and now its almost finished. Here are some pics of the major parts before I glue them together permanently. I had to buy the 2002 reissued ERTL KITT in order to use the clear windshields instead of the MPC's smoked ones (they were scratched an...

I can't comment on Smokey and the Bandit 2 because I haven't watched it yet. I've read somewhere that in part 3 they used a 1982-84 Trans Am.

I watched the movie and can confirm that Stiffler rode a black 1980 or 1981 model Trans Am. It definitely isn't a 1982 and above model. Yep, definately not a 3rd Generation Trans Am, it was similar, maybe exactly like the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am maybe it was from smokey an the bandit ? Nope,...

Since Semi trucks are heavy duty and they are Manual Transmissions and have anywhere from 7-18 speeds (gears) If the semi was in Auto Pilot, wouldn't the shifter lever be all over the place shifting? There are semi trucks out there that have automatic transmissions. They are rare though and are sou...

The semi did drive itself in season 4. In seasons 1-3 its anybody's guess if the semi was already capable of doing such a feat or if a FLAG employee was behind the wheel.

I'll pass on this experiment. I love my ERTL too much to subject it to such a test. And handling strong chemical substances can be hazardous to one's health. Besides, the car would most likely lose its paint and the plastic and rubber parts severely disfigured or melted...assuming we could get our h...

Just tighten the screws some more in a careful manner. The batteries inside may just be a bit loose. I had the same problem once when I peeked inside the compartment when it was new. I had to reinsert and tighten the lid several times in order for me to get mine working.

I think that little bit was put there in order to support the dashboard. If we moved the dash forward, then that little bit won't support anything (or will partially support). I plan to remove mine when I get to that part. I've so far finished up to section 12 of my MPC and plan to finish it by earl...
