I'm guessing most of us, like myself, chickened out upon facing the "please register" screen. It certainly can be offputting, purely for inconvenience sake, not to mention the possibility of spam.

Interesting that your D segment as you called it, still has mostly front wheel drive cars. Our most commonly sold cars are the locallly built ones, ie Ford Falcon and Holden Commodore, both being RWD. Ford went and lifted up the Falcon wagon and made it a 4WD ie: http://www.auto.co.nz/images/news_im...

Au contrair! We haven't had US built cars as our mainstays for decades. Granted, some parts were sourced from there, eg the V6 engine that the Holden Commodore has was from your Oldsmobile, I think it was. Mind you, we had to fix it all up first! ;-) Ford has been importing the Explorer from the US,...

Nup! Either an XF or XG. The XD/XE was the predecessor to the XF, and was a lot squarer. The rear bumpers indicate to me it's an XG. Same engine as the EF Falcon. It's quite possible that the bars were indeed used to tow the car while filming so that the actors could concentrate on acting. Hope some...

Sorry guys. Ford Falcon ute. 4.1 litre 6 cyl, most likely an auto. Good for towing nearly 2 tons. Good fun to throw around, too. Yes, we still have Holdens, in fact you guys have been getting one of our cars called a Monaro here, but apparently a GTO over there. Can't you guys remember how to build ...

Sorry, where are your blueprints? I'd like to see 'em. We get all sorts of cars here. This is a close approximation, but not real cheap either: http://www.redbook.com.au/vehiclesearch/images/vehicle/toyo88su.gif 1992 Toyota Supra. 6 cylinder, and the Turbo models go real well! Nissan have this alter...

Nah nah nah nah nahhhh....this was obviuosly an attempt to see what sort of reaction he/she/it could illicit. However, we could use this discussion as a place to talk about how we actually could make some of KITTS gadgets really work. Such as smoke screen, oil slick, flame thrower, etc. Heh heh...as...

Thank you 'Cheryl' :-) I am more than aware that some old clunkers had rear leaf springs :-P Been a LOOOONG time since any had FRONT leaf springs but :-) Yeah, I've wondered if it was a camera mount or towing mount for something like an A-frame. With that sort of setup you can pull any car just like...

Don't need em. Here's a shot from KOTP, with the bar arrangement fairly visible under the nose: http://kitt.250free.com/E01-0690.jpeg As is here, in TDR: http://kitt.250free.com/E08-0340.jpeg Oh, and while we're at it, have a look here and see what sort of running gear a Trans Am has. Dented sump &a...

Sorry, you have me all wrong. I was looking for a drawing, to convert it to a bit of a plan. A bit like what Micheal uses in Goliath to fix KITT in the desert. I WISH I had a TA, and in fact have seen some available in a city a couple of hours away (Brisbane) for about 8 grand. Unfortunately, I don'...

No, actually it's not. Trans Am's do not have leaf spring suspension, they have coil springs. They're not trucks, you know. The frame I am talking about is an addition fitted for the series. I originally thought it was just to keep the nose from scraping, but now I see it is a little more specific t...

That is pretty lame. KITT'S dash was one of his most impressive features! I can see that there's something where the wheel is too, but not much. Does anyone have a website?

I have to add that after watching KOTP for the umpteenth time, I STILL wanna know what damaged KITT at the end? He drives off to take Micheal to the hospital, and then is being towed? Huh?

Bar under KITT's nose

I just bought myself a small present, a two DVD set called The Best of Knight Rider. It has Knight of the Phoenix, Trust Doesn't Rust, Soul Survivor, Knightmares and A Good Knights Work on it. No extra features unfortunately :-( However, not ever being able to watch any KR episodes in such great det...

Does anyone have any pics of the dash of KIFT? I was disappointed with the scrolling voice display that was used in Knight Rider 2000. I believe that the voice box situated right in front of the driver in the original design gave Micheal a region to interact with, like a "face" for KITT. S...

AAARRGGGHHH!!!! It's OBSCENE! One could say it's Knight Rider inspired, but hardly a replica! :-P Wonder why someone as talented as Mr Barris would want THAT monstrosity as an example of his work?

Viper rocked! It had so much promise, yet it was so short lived down here. I loved the idea of the weapons. The morphing was a bit much, though. However, the whole nearly-indestructible modifyable chassis setup and the weapons was cool! Oh, and the weapons were great! Did I mention the weapons? ;-) ...

After a bit of stuffing around, I have come to the conclusion that Knight replicas do not allow hotlinking. However, boys, if you go to their site and check out the reference files, you will see that not all that sort of footage was recycled, and in fact, there was some new stuff. I personally belie...
