Re: ERTL KITT DASHBOARD

actually that is not my pic KITTfan posted it but I also have the same KITT and the dash has the square voice box, I have to say unless they use a decal like they did for the dash details it will be VERY hard in this scale to have the 3 bar voice box.

Re: ERTL KITT DASHBOARD

it is the square box based on season 1 which is funny as the nose of the car is a season 3/4 car (no smoked lens cut out covers for the front turn signals in front of the head lights).

Re: ERTL AND HOT WHEELS ELITE KITT COMPARISON PHOTOS

I never noticed that AMT Kitt's roof where the T tops attach is thinner than the hot wheels one, the thinner one is more correct. but i guess they made it thicker so they could use them flipped open gimmick, but I give props to HW the T tops on their KITT is way more correct than the ones in the AMT.

Re: Got my Hotwheels Elite KITT!

sadly mine is not mint in box but i still have his box, his tray, other than some minor paint apps to correct some of the flaws (made rear cargo area and back of rear seat tan instead of black, added black paint to the sunken areas in the silver parts of the wheels), and removing the clutch pedal he...

Re: What's the best motor to have in a KITT replica?

well if you go fuel injection you could just have the computer that came with the motor in the car somewhere. but you can get the LS series engines in carb format as well but they cost a lot more new than used out of a wrecked 4th Gen. this link may tell you all you need to know about swapping in a ...

Re: What's the best motor to have in a KITT replica?

yeah I forgot to suggest the LS series motors in the trucks, there was also a 5.3 liter 300 hp LS based V8 that was an option in the front drive Impala SS and Monte Carlo SS before they ditched them to a 3.6 Direct Inject 300 hp V6 that would easily mate up to a rear drive transmission (instead of t...

Re: What's the best motor to have in a KITT replica?

If you can find one from say a wrecked 98-02 Camaro or Trans Am get a LS1 V8, same size as the 5.7 tuned port but it is all aluminum and puts out 305 hp on pump gas (335 in SS for Camaro or ram air ws6 for Trans Am). Not only is it lighter than the old Iron block 305 or 350 but 300 and change hp is ...

Re: Ten 'Knight Rider' Knock-Offs That Failed Miserably

Another Knight Rider knock off from the 80s was Turbo Teen a boy while driving his car gets hit with a beam and he gets combined with his car. because of this he can turn into his car and when in car form he can drive himself, and when he talks his voice sounds a lot like what they did to Daniel's v...

this ad (both the one with KITT and the ones with a bunch of robots with a cameo by KITT) have been discussed on another thread when they first aired, and yes that IS William Daniels doing the voice of KITT in the KITT add with the train.

Re: Aoshima KITT and KARR

there was a site that sold the scanners separately for those who had the lower priced Aoshima models that did not have the scanner feature, and they can be used in the AMT/MPC Kitt models from the 80s as long as you do not want to have an engine in those models (the circuit board takes up the space ...

Re: Knight Industries 4000 (1991 movie) Model

the promo models were just preassembled lower part detail model kits from AMT with the body held to the chassis with metal screws and axles for the wheels (think a big scale hot wheels car but made of plastic) and the promos are based off of snap/screw together AMT kits (AMT did a glue version with ...

Re: Knight Industries 4000 (1991 movie) Model

yeah it is it is a fairly simplistic model it has less than i think 30 parts body (4 parts, shell front and rear clips rear wing, front and rear windows) lights (front scanner is transparent red, 2 front lights which are simply pieces of smoked glass, rear lights 2 pieces of clear red plastic) inter...

Re: Update on 1:15 KITTs from Diamond Select Toys

well, I have to say the figure does look a little better than the ones shown near the prototype from I think a year ago, but I have to say the one that comes with the Kenner talking car looks far more like Dave than that one does, still not a bad figure for the size/scale and having a lot better art...

no problem man, hope you get it and happy modeling to ya! Oh if you wanna feel daring, since the K 4000 is based off of a Dodge Stealth you could buy a AMT Dodge Stealth kit and use that kit's better detailed interior (the K 4000 dash drops right into the interior bucket as the K 4000 kit is based o...

it is easy to tell which one has the correct wheels, you want the original issue that came in the box with the gray background: http://i47.tinypic.com/2uep2x5.jpg the re issue with the incorrect wheels (they were from a 91-93 Corvette, not the 5 spoke custom mag wheels used on the 1/1 car) were in t...

that may be your problem the batteries that come with the car are 3 double A generic batteries, I noticed that when I put a set of Duracell AA batteries it sounded louder and the lights were more vivid, here is a nice shot of my Delorean with all the lights lit up, GOD I love this car!. http://i45.t...

funny the sounds on the Delorean I have are clear as a bell and loud enough, but then again I have the Part II car from Entertainment Earth with the flip down wheels so i dunno if the other Deloreans had weaker less 'good' speaker? the more I see pics of it and a youtube review on it makes me want i...

Re: diamond select prototype vs production model

the only problems I had on my DST light and sound Delorean was the doors do not 'latch' when closed they kinda stick out a bit along the bottoms this has to do with the fact the opening on the passenger compartment the door panel fits into is a tad narrow. and the Mr Fusion decals on the Mr Fusion t...
