Some of the stunt cars may have had reinforced bodies, but that really is the towing bar.

It's the towing bar. They'd use it whenever they wanted to show people inside the car. During these types of shots, KITT would be connected to a truck via that bar, freeing Hasselhoff from having to concentrate on driving the car and acting at the same time.

Re: Mistake

Personnally, I think that's why KR was cancelled. It started to rely too much on gimmicks. <snip> I know it was the bad stories, and repeated stories that did away with KR, but I still say when they changed KITT in KR2000, it wasn't well received, and forget about Team KR.... While the SPM gimmick ...

Who's to say they wouldn't have upgraded the car as the years went on, though? If Knight Rider had survived to the 1992-93 television season, don't you think they'd have leapt at a chance to switch KITT over to the 4th Gen F-body? Just like they did a total revamp of the dashboard for the third seas...

The partnership was between Michael and KITT, KITT being the computer in the car, not the car itself. Granted, when KITT gets self-conscious about his appearance in "Knight of the Juggernaut" or opens his doors and flips on the lights as an expression of happiness in "Race for Life,&q...

Paul, I think I e-mailed you about this, but since you're here, I'll ask you now... have you ever come across a copy of the script for the shorter, presentation version of the pilot episode? I ask just because I'm wondering if the scenes where Michael and KITT go back to Comtron after breaking out o...

I thought the hole in the backout was for when they used the grapling hook, however that is spelled...lol. The first time we saw the grappling hook, it shot out a hole in the middle of the rear blackouts ("Not a Drop to Drink"). Later on, it seemed to come out from underneath the front an...

In Knight Rider Legacy, they mention that when Hasselhoff went on tour in Europe in the late '80s to promote Night Rocker, he had a couple of display cars made to take on tour with him, so I'm guessing this wasn't an original, but pretty darn close.

A couple of years ago, someone over at Something Awful posted this in one of their weekly Photoshop contests, as an idea for a new TV series. I showed it to a friend of mine, and we fleshed it out a bit... -I think they should do that for the new Knight Rider movie. --The main character would ...

I read online at the website for High Performance Pontiac magazine that Pontiac may come out with a Camaro twin after all, though nothing official has been decided. If it does come out, it'll be called "GTO" rather than "Firebird," and may take its design cues from the late 70s S...

I think it's worth remembering that Hasselhoff's relationship with NBC is the same as his comments regarding Larson: it's all Business. He wants a new TV series, and NBC hold the cards. He's not going to get anything from them if he burns his bridges -- and nor are we. Besides, he always said he wa...

My issue with this is really NBC because of their track record with sci-fi shows (i.g. Knight Rider , Viper , Quantum Leap , Surface and Threshold to name a few). It's not even really just the sci-fi shows but anything that isn't a reality show, medical drama, or sit-com. But then again, David seem...

Whether or not KITT is a 1982 Trans Am, whether or not the film features David Hasselhoff in any capacity, I think as long as the film remains true to the spirit of the show, and tries to play it straight, it'll be a good film. And by "play it straight," I'm not saying no humor; if anythin...

Re: Kitt damaged in Pilot Episode?

How was KITT damaged in the PILOT episode? I thought he was indestructible until we see the GOLIATH episode of Season 2. They never exactly say, apart from Devon's comment about "Only you could put a dent in that machine." The shooting scripts for the pilot don't have KITT being quite as ...

The Firebird/Trans Am has always shared body styles with the Camaro, so the fact that Chevy is moving ahead with a new 2009 Camaro means there might be hope for a new Trans Am as well.
