Re: The Character no one cared about...

Personally, I have a bigger problem with the phrases "brofus" and "douche nozzle" actually being allowed anywhere near a Knight Rider script than the sexual orientation of the characters on the show (or indeed the sexual orientation of folks 'period'). MK could be written as gay ...

Personally, I'm waiting for KITT to say "Dude - what the f**k?!" when Michael screws up.

Now that would be funny, if not network friendly...

Re: Live Discussion - Don't Stop The Knight

Regarding old theme tune vs new KR08 theme: The original is iconic, revolutionary for its time and has aged extremely well (probably due to the canny combination of live real instruments and electronic embelishments). The new version's strongest points are all based on cues from the original theme, ...

Re: Live Discussion - Don't Stop The Knight

Good points: Better green screen. The in car camera positioning on MK seems a little off though, like he has to lean over to stay in frame. The in car close-ups are, well, very close. I guess they're trying to minimise the amount o green screen we actually have to look at in the periphery of those ...

Re: Live Discussion - Don't Stop The Knight

the non-lethal thing is something I don't mind seeing evolve. In the original series it was bourne out of restrictions on TV violence No way, without the directive to preserve human life, KITT would be KARR! (not that it actually made any sense for KARR not to carry that long established essential ...

Re: CG Explosions in Knight Rider 2008

The green screen driving scenes did look noticeably better in this week's episode. I had no problem with the explosions either. Noted the odd looking tail-lights post transformation but hey, it looked good enough to me. However, what is the deal with those awful turbo boosts?! The editor clearly did...

Re: The Knight Rider 2008 Positive Feedback Thread

I like: the Mustang the HUD Val Kilmer as KITT the KittCave (no need for 100s of techs though. And can we lose the "teen den" rec room?) Billy Sarah Charles (what are you thinking, ditching Bruce Davison?!) KITTPlane (would prefer it if it was only used for occasional long distance mission...

Re: The Reboot- I think it is too late

It may not be too late, but what boggles my mind is why they went in the direction that they did initially. Michael and KITT may have gone against some kind of terrorist like characters in the original, but generally it was like the modern equivalent of the Superman TV series with George Reeves-goo...

Re: Have yall seen this yet - changes to Knight Rider

Frankly, the biggest change they need to make, apart from ditching as much green screen as possible, is to bring in some writers who can actually write a decent script and who understand the fundamentals of "the world of the Knight Rider." I know this is Knight Rider, not Shakespeare, but ...

Re: My 5 wishes to improve Knight Rider

I would be really interested to hear what people who don't know anything about Knight Rider, think of this new show. My girlfriend watched the second episode with me and repeatedly laughed out loud at the special effects (turbo boost and faked driving scenes) and the corny dialogue. Hard to defend,...

Re: My 5 wishes to improve Knight Rider

1. Use more REAL driving sequences - what happened to the car in the pilot where the stunt driver was on the roof and the actors were filmed pretending to drive? The green screen stuff at the moment looks *?$#. 2. More REAL stunts - we need to see a realistic TURBO BOOST and NOW! 3. Coherent editing...

Re: Worst episode ever...

I really don't like The Scent of Roses. Everything about it makes me cringe, from the bad dialogue to Michael's horrendous taste in sweaters.

Most of season 4 is total trunks, to be fair.

10 classics: Pilot Trust Doesn't Rust KITT vs KARR Knightmares Goliath Knight of The Juggernaut (even though SPM sucks) Speed Demons Inside Out Halloween Knight Circus Knights I also have a soft spot for Short Notice. Not a particularly great episode but some nice touches that hadn't been done befor...

Re: THEME song just horrible!

How many of you are still humming the new theme a week after seeing the new pilot? Not many I'll bet. After all, it's pretty hard to hum something you can't even remember in the first place.

The most important quality of any TV theme is that it be memorable. This wasn't.

Re: Val Kilmers KI3T: Your thoughts

I have to admit that I liked it. I was stoked to hear Will Arnett was onboard and then dismayed about the ensuing SNAFU involving GM. However, to me Kilmer's calm almost soothing tones really hark back to the original sound of KITT's voice in the original pilot. He did a good job for the amount of t...

Great post Shapeshifter. I wonder if it would be possible to post the original script here so we could compare what was on the page to what made it onto the screen?

Re: THEME song just horrible!

I have christened the new badly rocked-up theme "Smells Like Knight Rider." I pretty much hated it. While the original theme still manages to sound cool after 25 years to pretty much everyone (including non KR fans) not to mention remaining influential to other musicians, this one sounds l...

Re: I'm sorry guys, but this is how I really feel..

IMO, the new car was the one thing they got right - though it wasn't filmed particularly well and a few of the long shots looked like pure bad CGI. The rest was... underwhelming, in particular the basic story and the horrible new score - or lack thereof. What's with all the generic rock crap and ble...

Re: 2009 proto type Trans Am

The screaming chicken looks retarded on that less than pretty boat, which is if anything even more bulky than the 2008 Mustang. By the way, that pic is just a mock up done by Problete. Also, I love how GM are all anti-Knight Rider, yet are quite happy to milk the Smokey and The Bandit connection. DU...

Re: New KITT

Yup. If GM had bothered to bring back the Firebird Trans Am a la the Camaro and actually wanted it used in Knight Rider, provided it looked good I bet you it would have been a shoe-in for the new pilot and series. However, that DID NOT happen and, in my opinion, as far as I can see GM have been idio...

Re: A bombshell... Arnett out as KITT

No more Will?! This can only be "a huge mistake"- I mean "COME ON"! Kilmer might actually be an interesting choice, presumably a little closer to KITTs original "softer" voice as featured in the 1982 pilot. I have to say though, I was looking forward to Arnett ta...

Re: The Heritage Of Mike Tracer

Do we know Tracer's age for sure?

I'd prefer them to go with Bonnie as the mother sometime after the end of Season 4. As a kid I always did want them to get together!

I could care less about screwing with KR2000's murky role in the overall series "canon".
