That toy is very nice! It kinda looks like a cross between KITT and the DeLorean Time Machine. If KITT was to travel through time, this car would definitely fit the bill. It even has accurate bowling ball caps, way way cool! 8)

If I remember correctly, Heather Thomas' character (Jody) sometimes drove around in a white 1982 or '83 Firebird in the show.

Ahh...so they were. Thanks for the correction. Stainless steel is heavier than sheet metal I believe. It would explain why the DeLorean was so underpowered.

I'm sure delorean was never made in colour too, only standard polished aluminium that marked when you touched it) so it must have been painted. (or am i wrong) I also don't think those DeLorean sports cars were painted at the factory. It is possible to paint over the aluminum shell but a special pr...

It's not coincidental...its actually a very good product-placement gimmick by Pontiac.

KITT's tires weren't treated with MBS since in one episode a direct hit with a laser completely destroyed (melted) one front tire. The tires were just puncture resistant or bullet-proof but not MBS coated IMO. In JYD, all the tires should have melted along with all the metal, upholstery and rubber p...

The fastest speed the car probably reached during filming was most likely the desert scene during the intro and credits. No traffic, no turns...speed definitely breached 50mph.

Then there's KITT running on a ramjet also in the desert after their unpleasant encounter with Goliath.

Those are great diecast modifications, Juggernaut30! If you were to make several of those and sell them in ebay, you'd be a rich man. The SPM KITT will easily fetch $100 and more easily. :)

Actually this feature doesn't give a car more power. It enables the car's rear wheels to have more traction at high speed resulting in greater stability. :)

Nice KITT replica although the interior looks to be a stock Firebird (round steering wheel is visible). Antenna should also be removed. But a good replica nonetheless. :)

but you still should have painted the clear red part black to match the bodym i glued the red clear part to the body before painting the whole thing black. They also look even better if you paint black in between the turbocast's spokes. I think Ansy-KITT was the first to do this:D Yup, painting the square holes (flat black) in the turbocast's spokes makes the rims look more realistic. Even my 1/18 KITT's rims are painted flat black. :) Coupla question...

The model look exellent! the only thing i don't like about it is the wheels:( Yeah, they're not really that accurate to the bowling ball caps of a real Trans Am. The caps are a wee bit too small and the square holes surrounding them are too big. I considered using the ones from a Revell Firebird ki...
