Yeah. Definitely an "end-all-excuse." But even a seatbelt won't do enough. A real jump harness basically hangs your ribcage from the ceiling rollbar, on stiff bungee cords. It's different from the usual 4-point harness that racecar drivers wear. One of those newer "HANS" devices ...

I can't get too into the A-team, because I never loved it as a kid.

They shot at stuff all day, and never hit anything. Boring. As a 7-year-old, I knew that was hard to swallow. Somehow, KITT was easier to suspend my disbelief over.

It's not quite a "correction," but . . . Here'e my idea for an epic, overkill, 5-season opener: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Michael has left the foundation at the end of season 4, KITT has a dorky new driver he hates, blah, blah, blah . . . Garth Knigh...

I think KR is definitely a rediculous show. That's why I love it so much. Doing a show about a supercar with a personality, and a "lone crusader" cowboy of a driver? What made it so much fun as a kid, was the fact that they dared to make it so dramatic & straight-faced. ---------------...

I think there's a simpler solution. ---------------------------------- Look at a Harrier jet, or a hovercraft. They had to build the whole object around the idea, just to make it hover. "Sustained flight is not my strength!" Continually holding it up is probably out of the question. But to...

Part of the credit for spreading musical diversity goes to the internet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I went to high school in the mid-1990s, and the internet as we know it today just wasn't there. I vote the old one.

The new (93-02) F-bodies are too stylized. They look like caricatures of themselves.

The Dukes did indeed run a black remote-controlled car off the road. It was a 1970s police-car-type Mopar 4-door sedan. Later, the bad guys turn the General Lee into a remote-controlled car to replace the car the Dukes totalled. It wasn't the kind of direct swipe at KR, that KR was prone to doing to...

People are quick to forget that it was TV . It was not a film. TV at the time was much cheaper than our modern TV, and light-years behind modern film. It's like trying to argue that the 1960s "Star Trek" shows were crappy compared to the 1970s "Star Wars" movies. They were separa...

There was no indication that Michael's T/A was "used" to make KITT.

KITT must have been a long project, and it didn't seem to utilize assembly-line parts, etc.

Michael's T/A was undoubtedly just product-placement.

More likely:

I still say the General Lee is no joke. ----------------------- An industrial building crane obeys laws of physics. Yoda doesn't. The most Yoda was ever shown lifting was an X-wing outta the mud. You'd think Glen Larson would eventually sell the rights, with enough money on the table. Who knows? I guess a major unknown factor is the opening-weekend grosses they get out of "Starsky." If it's a hit, it might tip the financing scales in Larson's favor. Or vice versa. -----------------...

(Howdy, Mr. Gill! I was in Covington in June!) A VW chassis? I thought there were some jump shots that looked like a fiberglass-shell on a dune buggy! That explains that. Using it must have been a real mess. I can't imagine how you'd get a buggy-chassis to fly correctly. Much less vehicle weight, a...

Ahh, touche.
The General Lee didn't have any lava-resistant capabilities. The most it ever did was drive through some heavy forest fires.
-------------------------------

But in a car-to-car duel, exactly how would lava come into play?

I still think you're selling the General Lee a bit short. Yes, it was supposed to be just a Dodge Charger. But in Hazzard, cars, and especially the General, take on major-league unnatural abilities. The General Lee has rolled over, without a scratch. It has rammed-through other cars at full speed. I...

I dunno.
KITT is probably too tough to take actual damage from bashing into a tank, yes.

But, he's also probably not heavy enough to wreck the tank, either.

I call this is a rare case of a draw, assuming the tank isn't shooting.

I think it's possible that they'd just literally re-make somehting like the pilot episode, and start from scratch.
How many 9-year-olds know the old series very well?
