Ugh, I couldn't stand KITT's voice modulator in KR2000. It just looked...I don't know...Ueeacgk! Yes well, Like I said, it was the IDEA of the voice box that was good in KR4000. The actual thing they produced turned out to look low budget, and unconvincing, and missed the aesthetic of a super advan...

I have noticed, it's only the middle line that keeps changing. The other 2 hardly ever change. In "Blind Spot", the voice indicator does not change, even though KITT's voice gets more bass. The left bar should be a lot higher. In "Knights in Disgrace", LaSalle overrides KITT's voice, but the displa...

The Knight 4000 did survive some rather large explosions in that chase scene, and bulletfire too. That sort of suggests an MBS. Although I don't know how they would have done it since no one person knew all three of the primary chemical componants of the MBS, and two of the guys that knew 1/3 of the...

KARR shorted Eddie's pace maker to open the opportunity for John to buy Eddie's shop. Remember Eddie wanted to get out for a little as he could afford to after his "heart attack" and offered the shop to john for next to nothing. Of course John would need the $5,000 so he would have to strike a deal ...

IN support of Knicks' argument is the fact that reference was made in the episode, "Goliath" to the fact that size and density does matter where the MBS is concerned. Michael said at one point "something that big with KITT's Molecular bonded shell could go through anything..." the obvious implicatio...

The only example I can think of off the top of my head in which a computer voice ever sounded without any kind of flashing light is Star Trek. (And of course HAL didn't flash). I guess it just makes people more comfortable to associate a voice with some kind of "mouth". Which maybe explains why HAL ...

Well there was: A) the "box" modulator, which seemed to basically be what sound engineer's would call a peak light (being it lit every time the volume in KITT's voice rose above a given point). B)the "three line" modulator, generally considered the most popular, which was in concept a little more ad...

Is there any chance that KR might make it into their weekday rotations? (ya know where they run several episodes of one program back to back from 12:00 to 3:00 or thereabouts) I note that Hercules; the Legendary Journeys is replacing KR, and they have been using that show about once a week in that t...

We don't know exactly how MBS works, but super-strong, lightweight materials/coatings would be very useful and I'm sure someday we'll have the equivilent. Or at least the military will. I believe it is these litle "cosmological constants" that give science the wiggle room they need to bring fantasy...

ONe of the serious problems with the question of whether KITT is possible today, is whether KITT is possible period. There was never any serious attempt to explain the technolgy behind such concepts as turbo boost, the MBS etc. And that front scanner is only one device. Could any one device ever do ...

Well since we've touched on music (my favorite subject) I think its interesting to note how much more common it is today to see people who don't listen to the music of "their generation". Personally, I think that the record industry has become so out of touch and comfortable in their monopoly of our...

It could be (and this is just a theory) that tension between Devon and Wilton Knight led to KARR's survival. Bear with me here. We've heard several times that Wilton was the main impetus behind KARR's construction, (like from KARR's own voicebox for starters; "I was created by Wilton Knight...."). A...

Ok, KITT's AI is definately top on my list for difficult to create. That's sort of a no-brainer. Also I think everyone has been ignoring the front scanner, I mean this thing was supposed to scan vitals, show x-ray pics, track non-transmitting objects, be a basic camera in the front, not to mention t...

My first memory was seeing the teaser for "Trust Doesn't Rust" which would air later that week. My mom yelled out the door that it was coming on, and while AT BAT, I dropped ever...
