I think it's because the camera is in the front of KITT, but they TV Monitors he is looking at and the SSC are looking at are viewing through the same camera. No eye implant.

It definitely appears they've been listening to our opinions here. I do believe that if they went a little old school with the Turbo Boosts they would look better. What I mean is they should show KITT jumping from directly overhead, like TOS did with the model cars, that would probably work, instead...

I don't know if anyone mentioned this already, but if you go on Knight Writers they explain how this was supposed to be the 2nd episode to air, and it was the 2nd one they filmed, but they rescheduled it for later, and therefore had to replace KITT's voice/lines in most of the script.
